Cosmin Panait is an investor, fund manager and co-founder of GenCap Management, a multi strategy investment firm, with an industry agnostic portfolio highly concentrated in pre-IPO opportunities, with multiple successful exits across a wide range of industries, including technology, biotechnology, oil & gas and consumer goods. 

Cosmin began his career at MD Global Partners in New York, where he focused on private investments in public equity (PIPEs), debt restructuring and standby equity facilities. There, he identified companies in the small to mid-market segment and navigated relationships with hedge funds, legal teams, and senior management to successfully guide projects from start to finish. 

Following his role in investment banking, Cosmin contributed to the strategic growth of Paltalk, a video-based social media startup, where he helped expand and manage their revenue models. 

Cosmin backed companies including Truly Free, RezyFi, Obvi, Trio Petroleum and Blackbridge Investment Group (BIG).

Cosmin received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Emory University and a Master of Management from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, and co-founded the Cosmin Panait & Lilian Yang Foundation.
